Bio

At age ten, Nathan launched his show business career when he bought his first Super-8 camera with money earned from picking snails. ($100 at 5 cents a snail = 2000 snails). Now that he owned his own camera he no longer had to collaborate with his mother and was at last free to create sci-fi epics set in a universe entirely populated by fifth-grade boys. The epics would later be replaced by an early career shooting and directing documentaries, music videos, and commercials. While still enrolled in USC’s MFA Film Program he was nominated for a Grammy for James McMurtry’s music video “One More Winter.” Desiring more experience in the world of feature filmmaking, he began working as a cinematographer, amassing over a dozen features, numerous television series, and pilots. He was nominated three times for the ASC Award for his work on “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” and won twice.

In 2007 Nathan wrote and directed his first feature film “Elsewhere” starring a talented young cast including Anna Kendrick, Paul Wesley, and Jon Gries. In the ensuing years, Nathan has directed over 50 episodes of television, including many of the “CSI” franchises, Fox’s “Gotham”, DC Universes’ “Titans,” Netflix’s “Lucifer,” and most recently, “National Treasure: The Edge of History,” based on the blockbuster movie franchise. In addition to directing, he has also served as a Producer on “Lucifer” and a Co-Executive Producer on “National Treasure.”
